- Simple Technology - Investigators complete paper case report forms (CRFs) and fax them to the data management
center using an ordinary fax machine.
- Intelligent Character Recognition - The DataFax™ software receives the faxed CRFs, identifies the study they belong to,
scans the data fields, populates the appropriate database tables, and queues the new data records and
CRFs for split-screen review by data management staff.
- Real Time Edit Checks - The split-screen review of data records and CRFs is assisted by programmed edit checks which
can access any item stored in the database.
- Automated Fax-Back Problem Reports - Data queries flagged during CRF review, plus queries automatically created by
DataFax™ for overdue visits and missing pages, are faxed back to the investigators for resolution.
- Study Management Reports - DataFax™ includes standard reports for tracking center performance, listing patient data,
monitoring individual work flow, detecting deviations from protocol, and producing audit trail reports from the transaction journals.
- Interactive Double Data Entry - Discrepancies between first pass and second pass are reported and resolved during second pass.
