Synteract CEO Ellen Morgan Awarded Most Admired CEO of the Year Honors

San Diego Business Journal Recognizes Morgan as Top Honoree in Private Large Companies Sector

SAN DIEGO – December 20, 2010 – Ellen Morgan, the president, CEO, and co-founder of Synteract, a leading full service contract research organization (CRO), has been awarded Most Admired CEO of the Year honors in the Private Large Companies sector by the San Diego Business Journal and Vistage International.

The 4th Annual Most Admired CEO Awards, including opening remarks from San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders, attracted more than 500 attendees when held November 16 at the Doubletree Hotel San Diego in Mission Valley. The awards were based on great achievements by CEOs within their companies as well as in their communities, with an emphasis on innovation, leadership and results. Morgan was one of 18 top honorees awarded in eight categories, chosen out of 67 finalists by an independent panel of judges. The San Diego Business Journal is the leading weekly business paper in San Diego County.

Morgan has 25 years of experience in the clinical research field; her company excels at providing full-scope clinical trial services, including project management, clinical operations, data management, biostatistics, medical and regulatory affairs, and medical writing. Morgan co-founded Synteract in 1995 with just two employees, and built it into a successful international organization. Morgan’s determination, passion, and resilience have led her company from humble beginnings to the multi-million dollar contract research organization that it is today. Synteract has offices in San Diego, Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, and Prague, Czech Republic.

Morgan was pleased by the award and quick to mention Synteract’s success is not based solely on her personal accomplishments. “I am honored to be recognized by the San Diego Business Journal and Vistage International; however, a company’s success is dependent on many people. I have to thank Synteract’s global staff of over 300 for their hard work day in and day out, and I am grateful to our clients for how far Syneract has come and excited to see how far we will go.”
